Metallic epoxy flooring can create a distinctive, one-of-a-kind surface, but the finished result cannot be copied exactly from a sample or another floor. In this DCVA project, the team used samples to help the customer choose a black, white, and gray design, including the direction of the veins, before installation began.
The installation included grinding and patching the concrete, applying a metallic-pigmented primer, pouring three epoxy colors, and carefully moving the material to create the desired pattern. The crew also controlled foot traffic and checked for dirt, hair, and other imperfections that could remain visible in a seamless floor. The process requires careful planning because repairs can be difficult once the epoxy has cured.
The finished floor received a high-wear urethane topcoat. According to the video, this finish adds durability and a slight texture that can help make minor imperfections less noticeable. The goal is not to promise a perfectly identical or glass-like floor, but to create a surface that looks intentional and performs well.
Planning a Metallic Epoxy Floor?
This DCVA project shows how metallic epoxy flooring is planned and installed, from reviewing samples and preparing the concrete to applying the metallic system and protective topcoat. Because every floor develops its own color movement and veining, samples help set realistic expectations before installation.
