STAMPED CONCRETE RESTORATION

Don’t Replace It. Restore It.

Fix Color Problems and Give Your Old Stamped Concrete a New Life.

how IT Works

See Our Process in Action

If your stamped concrete has color issues, uneven tones, or just looks tired and worn, you don’t have to tear it out and start over. We use a polymer-modified cementitious overlay system that bonds directly to your existing stamped concrete, corrects the color, and leaves your original pattern completely intact. We clean and prep the surface, apply the overlay by roller, add an antiquing agent to bring out the depth of the texture, and finish it off with a protective sealer. The result looks like a brand new slab.

Stamped concrete is a long-term investment, but over time color can fade, turn uneven, or develop problem areas from improper finishing when it was first poured. The good news is that in most cases, the concrete itself is structurally sound. The only thing that needs fixing is the color and the surface.

Our restoration process uses the Increte Renovate overlay system, a two-component, polymer-modified cementitious coating designed specifically for resurfacing stamped concrete. It goes on by roller, bonds to the existing surface, and does not affect the original stamped pattern or texture. Once the overlay cures, we apply an antiquing agent to add the characteristic depth and shading that makes stamped concrete look like real stone. Then we seal it to protect the surface and lock in the color.

Color Issues on Existing Stamped Concrete

The Problem

Uneven color is one of the most common complaints we hear about older stamped concrete. It can happen when sections were troweled at different times during the original pour, when the sealer has worn off unevenly, or simply from years of weathering and sun exposure. Whatever the cause, the fix does not require demolition. If the slab is solid, we can restore it.
Resurface Without Losing Your Pattern

The solution

The Increte Renovate system was built for exactly this situation. It applies like paint, but it is actually a tough, durable cementitious coating that becomes part of the concrete surface. It is compatible with antiquing agents and stains, so we can match or completely change the color of your existing slab. And because it follows the contours of your existing stamp, your pattern stays perfectly intact.
OUR PROCESS

Step 1 – Clean and Prep

We start by blowing off all dust and debris, then acid etching the surface to open up the pores of the concrete. If the slab has an existing sealer, we will strip it first using chemicals or dustless blasting before we proceed. Acid etching will not remove sealer, so this step is critical if the sealer is still present.

Step 2 – Apply the Overlay

We mix the Increte Renovate polymer liquid with the cementitious powder and roll it onto the surface. We work in sections to maintain a wet edge, making sure we get full coverage in all the deep areas of the stamped texture. The slab is then left to cure overnight.

Step 3 – Apply the Antiquing Agent

On day two, we mix an antiquing color and apply it across the entire surface. The pigment flows into the low spots and texture of the stamp, giving you a natural, variegated look with a medium base tone and darker accents in the grout lines and texture detail.

Step 4 – Seal

Once the antiquing agent has fully dried, we apply multiple thin coats of a clear concrete sealer to protect the surface, enhance the color, and give the slab a clean, finished look.

Decorative Concrete of Virginia

Who We Are

OUR STORY

In 2001, a family vacation changed everything. While away, our dad—then a successful home builder—spotted a crew installing a decorative concrete overlay. Intrigued, he walked over, asked questions, and even jotted down the name from the bag of materials they were using. A few weeks later, we were on a plane to Florida for hands-on training.

What began as a side project soon became a passion. Our eye for quality and craftsmanship, paired with our growing expertise, transformed decorative concrete of virginia from a part time hustle into our full-time calling.

In 2010, our good friend Landon—who had been running his own landscaping business—partnered with us. Together, we expanded into polished concrete and commercial coatings, adding even more ways to bring beauty and durability to floors across Virginia.

Today, Decorative Concrete of Virginia is still family-owned and built on the same principles that started it all: hard work, quality craftsmanship, and treating every project like it’s for our own home.

It started with a spark of curiosity… and grew into a legacy of concrete artistry.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING

Overall experience was great.
Tim went the extra mile to ensure that the coating would be compatible with my horrible concrete floor that suffered from spalling in the past. Used extra layer of vapor barrier to ensure good results. The team that came out was top notch as well, left the job site clean and were very friendly. I would definitely recommend them to do your floor project.

The folks at Decorative Concrete of Virginia are the absolute best at what they do! We are a repeat customer and I would not hesitate to hire them again. Our garage floor is now gorgeous! The team that worked on our floor was prompt, polite and really knew what they were doing. From the first contact with Colton to the finished product was wonderful.

Decorative Concrete showed up on time, were very professional, and highly competent! We had them apply polyaspartic coatings to both our garage floor and the unfinished area of our basement. The floors now look terrific! Our builder was so impressed with their work that he was going to contract with them for future homes he builds. We would recommend them unhesitatingly!
